What is VIP?
Regular VIP allows you to send images, voice messages, change your username, and fully customize the font and color of both your message text and your username.
What is Special VIP (SVIP)?
Special VIP has all the perks of regular VIP, in addition to:
- Access to special emotes/emojis.
- A glowing effect on your profile page.
- A purple diamond next to your name (as opposed to the regular blue diamond).
- Removes the decreased coin rate penalty (described in the economy section).
- Allows access to special commands in chat. You can view them here: Chat Commands List.
How do I get VIP?
To get VIP, you need to save up 5,000 coins and purchase Special VIP (SVIP). After a week, your SVIP status expires, and you automatically become a regular VIP. (You downgrade rather than losing your VIP privileges entirely!)

How do I get coins?
- Active Chatting: You get 1 coin for every minute you're online. Note: Each 10,000 coins you accumulate adds 20 seconds to that timer. (e.g., Having 10k coins means you get 1 coin per 80 seconds; having 20k means 1 coin per 100 seconds, etc.). SVIP removes this penalty!
- Transfers: You can receive coins from other users.
- Games: Type
/coinsin the chat to play a coinflip minigame for a chance at more coins. - Selling Items: You can sell inventory items for 100 coins each.
What are items?
Items serve no real mechanical purpose other than selling and trading for profit. You obtain them randomly just by being online.
How do I purchase emojis?
Simply type /coins in the main chat terminal to open the menu where you can purchase new emotes with your saved coins.
🤫 Secret Share
What is it and why are people pasting dates and links?
Secret Share is another website owned by the developer of FurryChat. You can create a personal link to send to people, allowing them to send you anonymous messages.
People often copy and paste the messages they receive into the main chat, including the timestamp, to reply publicly. It usually looks like this:
The first part is the anonymous message, the middle part is the timestamp, and the end is the user's public response. You don't have to show off your messages like this, but it's a common community trend!
How do I make one?
- Go to secret-share.net and scroll down until you see "Play".
- Click it, input your name, and press "Copy This Link".
- Paste the link in the main chat. Now people can message you!
- Go back to Secret Share and press "Update Secret Messages" to refresh your inbox.
⚠️ Important Community & Safety Info
Secret Share Accountability: If you send an inappropriate message via Secret Share, it could potentially get you punished on FurryChat! Furthermore, showing off highly inappropriate messages you received in the main chat is also a punishable offense, as you are technically distributing NSFW content.
Timezones: For non-American users, please note that the userbase is primarily based in the Americas. Peak activity hours will typically revolve around American evening and weekend timezones.
